The $1.3 billion resort-casino City of Dreams Manila will have its grand opening in early 2015.
City of Dreams Manila, which is being developed by the Philippine unit of Macau-based Melco Crown and Sy group’s Premium Leisure Corp., will only have a soft opening in December.
“Soft opening in December. Grand opening before Kung Hei Fat Choi (Chinese New Year),” PLC chairman Willy N. Ocier said. Chinese New Year is February 18-20, 2015.
City of Dreams Manila is set to become the second casino-resort to open in Pagcor’s Entertainment City in Paranaque City. It will have three hotels — Crown Towers hotel, Nobu Hotel and a Hyatt hotel, as well as ultra-luxe nightclubs Pangaea and Chaos.
Entertainment City is envisioned as Manila’s version of the Las Vegas Strip. Solaire Casino & Resort is already open, while Bayshore City Resorts World of Andrew Tan’s Travellers International Hotel Group and Manila Bay Resorts of Japanese billionaire Kazuo Okada are also being developed.
