CES Asia expands show floor due to high demand

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) ® today announced an expanded show floor for the inaugural International CES AsiaTM, an increase due to high market demand for exhibit space. Featuring top technology companies from around the world, CES Asia will run May 25-27 in Shanghai, China, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) and will draw global businesses to showcase the latest products and technologies entering the Asian marketplace. Despite Mess Frankfurt New Era (MFNE) claimed that their smahome demonstration is the key Asian manufacturing hub for smart home, it seems that either CES Asia or Global Source Electronics draw more visitors and prestigious exhibitors than MFNE.

“We simply underestimated what exhibitor interest would be for this first year show, and we were not able to accommodate all qualified requests for exhibit space with our initial inventory,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president International CES and corporate business strategy. “The overwhelming response we’ve received for exhibit space reinforces CES Asia as a major gateway for companies looking to expand into the dynamic Asian market.”

Since the announcement of the show, exhibit space at CES Asia has been quickly selling, resulting in this expansion just months after sales for the inaugural event kicked off. CES Asia has added more than 1,800 gross square meters (more than 600 net square meters) which will now allow for additional global brands, like new addition Samsung, to secure meeting room space for strategic business meetings.

International powerhouse companies are supporting CES Asia through show floor exhibitions and/or private meeting room space to conduct critical business. Major brands are highlighted below with new exhibitors as of this week shown in bold:

Shanghai Moshi

Skullcandy Audio

Thinking Group

China Mobile

Digital China

Industry visionaries will deliver keynote addresses at CES Asia, including Audi’s Rupert Stadler, who will deliver a preshow keynote address at 5 PM Sunday, May 24. Additional keynotes will be announced in the coming weeks.

CES Asia will showcase a dynamic conference program with topics ranging from the Internet of Things, connectivity and automotive to robotics, lifestyles and smart home.
