Airports Authority of India to modernize Chennai and Kolkata airports

India’s Chennai airport to start work on $346M upgrade

India’s Chennai International Airport will soon start the second phase of renovation at a cost of $346 million to help increase passenger and aircraft transits. Undertaken by the Airports Authority of India, the project has been deferred for the past three years due to the airport’s privatization plan. India’s Cochin International Airport installs 12MW solar plant

India’s Cochin International Airport (CIAL), located in the state of Kerala, has installed a 12MW solar plant to address its energy requirements. Installed with an investment of invested around INR620m ($9.5m), the solar plant comprises more than 46,000 panels spread across 45 acres, and is likely to produce 52,000 units of solar power daily, reported the Hindu. 1st large-scale turbine rotor manufactured in India dispatched from Toshiba JSW’s factory

Toshiba Corporation today announced that Toshiba JSW Power Systems Private Ltd. (Toshiba JSW), its subsidiary in India, has dispatched Low Pressure (LP) turbine rotor for NTPC Limited, India’s largest state-owned energy service provider, Unit 2 of Kudgi 3X800MW super-critical thermal power station, Karnataka state on August 4th. This is the first large-scale LP turbine rotor, which has been manufactured, assembled and tested in India.
