Toshiba-Marubeni JV ships first trainsets for Bangkok’s Purple Line

A Toshiba-Marubeni joint venture (JV) has shipped the first two trainsets for Bangkok’s new Purple Line Project, from Daikoku Pier, Yokohama City, Japan. The entire rolling stock fleet of 21 trainsets is scheduled to arrive in Thailand by next January for operation on the 23km passenger mass transit railway line that will run from Bang Yai to Bang Sue in Bangkok. Mitsubishi Electric to deliver additional 500kV gas-insulated switchgear in Thai

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced today that it has received two orders for 500kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), one each for the new Ayutthaya4 and Chaeng Watthana substations of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). Mitsubishi Electric will begin shipping equipment in 2016 and both substations are expected to begin operating from 2017. Thailand plans Chiang Rai airport expansion

Thailand’s Chiang Rai airport will receive an upgrade over the next two years to make it a possible alternative to the Chiang Mai airport. The $8.6 million expansion includes the construction of two new taxi-ways. Thailand’s U-Tapao airport to construct new terminal and runway

Thailand’s U-Tapao Rayong-Pattaya International Airport is reportedly planning to spend $20.5 million on the construction of a passenger terminal and a new runway. The new terminal is expected to be completed by February 2016 and will start operations from June. It will equip the airport to handle a total of three million passengers annually. 2nd phase expansion of Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport delayed

The board of Airports of Thailand (AoT) has once again shelved plans to streamline the proposed expansion of Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi international airport. The move comes after the country’s transport ministry directed the AoT to adhere to a Bangkok airport master plan and prepare a proper impact assessment, reported The Bangkok Post.
