Indian railways to install integrated surveillance system at five busiest stations

Indian railways is installing an integrated security system (ISS) at its five busiest stations, namely Agra cantt, Mathura, Allahabad, Kanpur  and Jhansi.  With the help of this new security system Indian Railways aims to maintain its surveillance on stations throughout the day with high resolution cameras that are capable of capturing clear images in both day and night. Mitsubishi delivers first six-car AGT train for shuttle service in Japan

Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has delivered the first of the three six-car automated guideway transit (AGT) trains to Saitama New Urban Transit. The trains are scheduled to enter commercial service on the Ina Line tomorrow. China Railway and XpressWest to form JV for Nevada-California interstate HSR system

China Railway International USA and US railway consortium XpressWest have agreed to launch a joint venture (JV) to build and operate the first high-speed railway (HSR) project in the US. The 370km-long railway project, also known as the Southwest Rail Network, will connect Las Vegas, Nevada, and Los Angeles, California. Toshiba-Marubeni JV ships first trainsets for Bangkok’s Purple Line

A Toshiba-Marubeni joint venture (JV) has shipped the first two trainsets for Bangkok’s new Purple Line Project, from Daikoku Pier, Yokohama City, Japan. The entire rolling stock fleet of 21 trainsets is scheduled to arrive in Thailand by next January for operation on the 23km passenger mass transit railway line that will run from Bang Yai to Bang Sue in Bangkok. Indonesia cancels $5B high-speed train project for slower rail link

Indonesia has cancelled a $5 billion plan to build its first high-speed rail link between Jakarta and the West Java provincial capital of Bandung. The government is planning to come up with a cheaper rail link with medium speeds of 200km/h, instead of the high-speed line, as the project involved state funding. Bombardier nabs $381M contract to deliver 15 high-speed trains for China

Bombardier Sifang (Qingdao) Transportation (BST) has secured a $381 million contract from China Railway Corporation (CRC) to deliver 15 additional CRH380D high-speed trains. The new eight-car trainsets will be an integral part of the country’s developing high-speed railway network. China opens high-speed rail link to North Korean border

China has opened a new high-speed rail line from central part of the country to the border of North Korea in order to strengthen economic ties. The high-speed train from the Chinese industrial centre of Shenyang to the border city of Dandong on the Yalu River was opened for business today.
