South Korea plans to build $3.5B second airport on Jeju island

South Korea has reportedly revealed plans to build a $3.5 billion airport on Jeju island, in a bid to meet the increasing passenger traffic. Korean Land and Transport Ministry as saying that the new airport with one-runway will be constructed on the eastern part of the island. Indian railways is installing an integrated security system (ISS) at its five busiest stations, namely Agra cantt, Mathura, Allahabad, Kanpur  and Jhansi.  With the help of this new security system Indian Railways aims to maintain its surveillance on stations throughout the day with high resolution cameras that are capable of capturing clear images in both day and night. Mitsubishi delivers first six-car AGT train for shuttle service in Japan

Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has delivered the first of the three six-car automated guideway transit (AGT) trains to Saitama New Urban Transit. The trains are scheduled to enter commercial service on the Ina Line tomorrow. Airports Authority of India to modernize Chennai and Kolkata airports

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has reportedly unveiled plans to invest nearly $211.6 million to modernize Chennai and Kolkata airports. As part of the upgrade plans, an investment of about $151.1 million at the Chennai Airport will see the integration of domestic and international terminals facilitating easy access to the passengers. Vietnam’s Tan Son Nhat airport announces expansion plans

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has made changes to the master plan for the Tan Son Nhat airport in order to accommodate future passenger growth. Under the plan approved by the transport ministry, the eight-hectare expansion at Tan Son Nhat airport will increase its aircraft parking capacity to 82, twice the current number and airport aprons from 40 to 54. China Railway and XpressWest to form JV for Nevada-California interstate HSR system

China Railway International USA and US railway consortium XpressWest have agreed to launch a joint venture (JV) to build and operate the first high-speed railway (HSR) project in the US. The 370km-long railway project, also known as the Southwest Rail Network, will connect Las Vegas, Nevada, and Los Angeles, California.
